Well-child visits are typically recommended at birth, 2-4 weeks, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months, and annually thereafter. These visits help monitor your child’s growth, development, and overall health, and ensure they receive necessary vaccinations and preventive care.
Bring your child’s vaccination records, a list of any medications they are taking, details of any past medical history or surgeries, and any questions or concerns you have about your child’s health. It’s also helpful to bring a favorite toy or comfort item for your child.
To prepare your child for a pediatric visit, explain what to expect in a simple and reassuring manner. Encourage them to ask questions and express any fears. Bringing a favorite toy or book can help comfort younger children. For older children, discussing the importance of the visit and involving them in their health care can be beneficial.
If your child is sick outside of clinic hours, you can contact our after-hours service for advice. For urgent medical issues, visit the nearest emergency department. In case of severe symptoms or emergencies, call emergency services immediately.
